Abstract:

The Decorative Arts subgroup was formed in 1975, under the curatorship of Katherine S. Howe. The collection includes 18th, 19th- and early-20th-century American decorative arts, Included in the collection are works by such artisans as the Herter Brothers and Louis Comfort Tiffany, a collection of English silver and Worcester porcelain. The decorative arts curatorial files include information and correspondence concerning acquisitions, exhibitions, research in the field and the establishment of Rienzi as the center for European decorative arts.
