Abstract:

The Hirsch papers document the lives of Maurice Hirsch and Winifred Busby Hirsch both before and after marriage in 1947, and until Winifred´s death in 1990. The papers include information about General Hirsch´s family, academic and military career as well as the couple´s marriage, death, travel, social activities and civic and philanthropic activities through clippings, correspondence, certificates and ephemera. A large photogaph collection provides a glimpse into civic and social activities, vacations, family and friends.
